Cuppa delight!!



                With some phases of unlock happening, the lockdown still continues at various levels. At the home , the camp continues....

                       Festivals, birthdays, anniversaries, family events and all are coming and going ....everything is getting done in a new way - at home!! Virtual meetings with  the friends and the family has become the "in thing". Come to think of it in a positive way,  for some of us - this year has gone by staying close to the family, spending quality time together....πŸ˜‡

                                   But then, sometimes, it is difficult to make yourself understand - that six months have gone by and it may be just another 6 months to go ....or may be more!! 

                                  I was thinking if I have been missing anything.....and realised - nopes!! Going out ,meeting friends, visiting relatives, shopping, movies, dun visit, Friday Fun!?? Anything - and no I didn’t.

                                This is because almost everything is happening from home - in a new way!! Families are connected as always - more so at this time, because we are calling each other up every now and then to check. Video calls have become frequent. And almost everyone is getting more time, that we have saved from not travelling on roads πŸ˜…. Same way, friends are connected through calls and video calls. And the shopping....when did it stop? πŸ€£πŸ˜…!!  All thanks to Amazon!!

              Just the destination travelling part stopped - but that also I don't feel is too much an issue for me or my family. We are happy staying put at one place, with work going on smoothly and good food served on the table.

                           πŸ§  And yet, there is this small craving at times, to see people and spend time with them.....

                     Okay,  with that I come to the conclusion that I have not completely gotten converted into anti social animal 😁. 

                             Staying home. maintaining social distancing,  I have been busy with home, work and cooking. Family birthdays lined up for next 2 months I am trying too many things to impress phamilly and make them feel special . Writing notes, arranging gifts and lots good food is on the cards!! Oh yes!! and not to forget the festivities are round the corner too πŸ₯³. 

                          So will be sharing the recipes. And this time it is Mousse and ganache layering on cake base. My kids love mousse, however with raw egg as the main ingredient I avoid eating it outside. So, I have  this simple home recipe - no raw egg in it. Try it and  you are going to love it!!

Make your own cuppa delight!! 

Part 1 

Mousse : 

Heavy Cream -  250 ml 

Whipped Cream - 200 ml 

Cocoa Powder - 20 gms

Hot Water - 100 ml

Chocolate Bar - 200 gms (finely chopped)

Vanilla Extract - few drops 


             This will be a little bitter sweet mousse - I am not adding any sugar. Sweet from chocolate and whipped cream would be enough. 

             Boil water and add cocoa powder. Keep this aside. Now, melt chocolate in a pan by putting it in a bigger pan with boiling water. In the mean time mix both creams with vanilla essence with a hand blender. 

          When chocolate is all gooey, add the hot cocoa water into it and mix well. Now this will be little thicker together.  

          Add this chocolate mixture to you peaky cream and fold them all together gently. Keep it in the fridge for chilling. Once it is chilled, it will be of little thicker consistency but still runny. 


Part 2 

Chocolate Ganache 

Chocolate Bar - 200 gms (finely chopped and on room temperature) 

Whipped Cream - 250 ml 

Unsalted Butter - 1 tbsp

            This is going to be sweet gooey ganache layer as both things here are sweet. 

            Heat the cream on low temperature. It should become hot, but don’t boil. On the side make sure that the chocolate is in very small pieces and soft. Now put the butter and chocolate pieces in hot cream and leave for some time. Let chocolate melt completely. Now mix it completely with hand blender for a smooth consistency. 

Once done, keep it inside fridge for chilling. 


After 2-4 hrs when both are chilled it’s time to fix it and eat!! 

1. Cuppa delight - take a cup, mug, glass - depends on how large you the serving 😎. First put a layer of chocolate cake or cookie for base. Then Mousse on the top. Then ganache over it!!! A dash of mint πŸƒ leaf will make it a complete delight!! And there a 5 star for over indulgence!! Enjoy. πŸ˜‡



2. Another variation you can try with these is for making your cake sandwich. Simply layer it between your cake slices!! Yummmmm!!
