Sinful bambinnis

Image
Wow!! You need to dig into one, to see that the name stands true!! Sinful bambinnis! Croissants πŸ₯ otherwise!!      Just one!! With a hot cup of coffee/tea!!                     I love croissants, and always kept trying making it at home to see if there can be a simpler, less buttery version of it. Conclusion : No!! If you want an easy n less buttery version of it, then it is a brioche croissant. Easier to make, and less sinful πŸ˜‚. But here, we are talking about the sinful ones!! Well, for croissants it is said that it needs 3 - 4 days and I did that way quite a few times - but this time since I was low on patience, ended up making it in 1 day 🀷‍♀️. Result was fairly good. It's just that, the entire day I didn't do anything but, "Croissant-ing" πŸ’ͺ Yes, it’s little tough, and I didn’t get the perfect shape even now, but it’s  flaky, buttery, crispy n soft - at one go!! If you try making these, the trick is, have ...

Bun Buns

Image
Yes, bun buns, as we had started calling my little princess.  Actually her sleep cycle took ages to settle down, ditto with these buns. So, the name struck...πŸ˜† Well, when I started the "breade-thon" pavs really took time to crack. And I see, that with each batch it keeps getting better and better. So in this awesome weather right now, rains and clouds and so much greenery, its the right time for some Mumbai style vada pavs.  So, today I decided to repeat my baked vada pav session. However after baking half the batch, I thought may be I can fry a few vadas, as pavs are baked anyways 😈. Finally ended up frying half of the vadas. Obviously it tasted better. So, we had the spread of both, baked and fried - Balance!! Right!!  Well check out this recipe - and you will love it.  Bread Flour - 550 gms Sugar - 1 tsp Milk Powder - 2 tsp Malt powder - 1 tsp Salt - 1.5 tsp Yeast - 2.5 tsp Unsalted butter - 2 tbsp Lukewarm Milk - 110 ml Lukewarm Water - 100 ml Extra Flour...

Exotic Bread

Today morning when I woke up .....around 5 am ....it was raining heavily 😍. My immediate reaction was ....yipeeeeee!! it's going to be a rainy day!! That means holiday ...hehehe!! Then within a few minutes, came the realization - ONLINE!! hai sabkuch!! No travel, no chutti!!  Well, unless its rainy day and the connectivity goes for a toss πŸ˜„.  Far from those dreams, finally everyone logged in and worked....looking outside and enjoying the view of beautiful rains.  So, after my work was finished I thought of making some nice cheese bread. I have been trying various combinations of breads, and have come to the conclusion that home baked breads comes out best if we use milk or butter milk in it. And this one - I call it exotic bread, is simply divineπŸ˜‹!! All purpose flour - 400 gms Minced Garlic browned in Olive oil - 1 tbsp Sea Salt - 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper - 1 tsp Milk Powder - 1 tsp Egg - 1 Unsalted butter -  75 gms Granulated sugar - 25 gm...

Actually it was the lazy crazy mom, who thought how about a jumbho πŸ’ͺ goooey batch of chocolate .....😁. With exams finishing it would need less work - the cake would take care of the in between hunger pangs of munchkins I happily look after... This at times takes me back to my summer vacations as a child. My mom side was a big family!! I have very lovely memories of my nani - no, not telling us stories or sitting knitting at one place. For the entire one month of vacations we used to spend there - she used to be seen gliding through kitchen to rooms to veranda.....like a superwomen!! Yes, I realize it now - making sure that entire house is clean and full family of some (20 approx) are all well fed entire day was her simple job ....phew!! And what amazing lip smacking food she used to cook!! (And here I am today, just 4 months down the line, dreading thinking about - again cleaning, and cooking, and clothes, and ....blah blah blah ....from where to start!! πŸ˜…πŸ˜•)  I remember, she us...
