The Camp...

So, when it all started - Kids were a little confused! 

Is it possible that we cannot order from outside - and why? 

Weekends were like - at least (l repeat “at the least!!) one meal coming from outside, and rest of the time in-house help to cook anything 😬. And we all have gotten used to of this lifestyle for many moons now. 

It was different during our times - yea yea yea blah blah blah - “same old grannies story 😅” - that’s my daughter’s reaction!! So, won’t repeat it here 😆. 

Anyways, keeping in mind, that junk food as it is, is a concern, I tried to play it well with the safety issues sixer!! 

So the stories - “and they were/are true” - about how it’s not safe to order at all, went down, pretty well. 

Say, It’s the need of the hour, and, it also solved my underlying concern - “no junk food.” 😇 

In Hindi we have that phrase for it - “Ek teer do nishaane.” 😶😝

Wow!! What a bliss it was - for initial 2 days!!  😈 For those days, it was complete daal rice meals twice a day!! 

Then kids revolted, they wanted something different!! 

So, started the Maggi meals for next two days!! 

And then came the guilt part - “mom’s guilt”. 🙈

You see, I had shared in the beginning - for me it’s always a little push that makes things rolling!! So, this time it was my kids - and their cravings for good (junk) food  - that made me jump back into the Kitchen!! 

Well, here my son helped me a lot. He kept eating happily whatever I baked or cooked 😂😂. 

This was the phase of “Aatmanirbharta” 😂. Making or baking everything at home! Sometimes some things tanked, and some came out super purrrfecto!!

But guess, that didn’t matter - because without realising we kept going on and on!! What is important is that we had loadsa quality family time. The tradition of - searching through some recipe and making it together, the cleaning schedule, children doing their room cleaning, all taking turns to sweep n mop house - everything everyone doing together tradition - started!!.....and frankly speaking, it is like one big CAMP!! And the camp is still on 😆. 

Best part : nothing is perfect, but it is so much more fun!! 😄😄 

Well, it was, till vacations were there!! 😆

Then, the adventurous camp took another turn!! 

With school reopening, for sometime, it became a struggle. Kids having no time. We all got busy, but I kept the cooking part going - 

You can’t leave it!! Can you?? 

And if your Cooking work becomes therapy for you, what best can you ask for!!

So, the tradition, continues, with work and classes , in various forms!! 

And there will so many awesome stories, rolling out from this time....!!
